Evaluating Programming Methods for Edge Programmable Industrial Controllers

Tuesday, May 14
4:20 - 5:00 pm

Everyone has unique ways of solving problems, so it’s important to have a diverse set of tools available. These tools must be suitable for the task at hand, but also be suitable for those who will be using them. Providing a multitude of programming methods means that every developer can use the tools he or she has been trained to use, is comfortable with, and has confidence in.

This workshop is designed for automation engineers, programmers, and developers who want a variety of powerful programming tools at their disposal when creating industrial automation and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) applications. In this workshop, you will:

  • Learn the value of using the right tool for the right job, and the right tool for every worker
  • See which programming tools are the most common in industrial automation and IIoT
  • Learn about new tools that are impacting and improving the field now and for the future
  • Experience sample applications built with the variety of programming tools available in today’s edge programmable industrial controllers, including IEC 61131-3, Secure Shell (SSH), Ignition Edge, PAC Control, groov View, and Node-RED
